================================================================= deHavilland Heron - DH114 Series2A Reg. N14FB of US AIR - Allegheny Commuter by Les Penridge. revised flight model by Brian Horsey. for FS98 (FS5.1 included) ================================================================= This model is of N14FB, a Series 2A Heron used by US Air for the commuter service between Mansfield and Cleveland Ohio. Many thanks to Chris Jacobs who provided a scan of his original photograph of this scarce aircraft, along with details of its operating schedules. The deHavilland Heron was launched in 1950 as the replacement for the four engine DH86 biplane. It made use of a large number of components from the smaller two engine DH104 Dove, but was given four engines and had space for 14 passengers. The original Series 1B aircraft used Gipsy Queen 30 engines and were fitted with a fixed undercarriage. The later Series 2B were given retractable undercarriage. A large proportion of Herons were re-engined with uprated Lycoming IO-540 engines and designated as Series 2D, with those certified to the US standards as Series 2A. ----------------------------------------------------------------- The zip file contains the FS98 files for the usual layout. ... \Aircraft\HeronUSA\Model \Panel \Sound \Texture For those who need it, the AIR file for FS51 is stored in the embedded file: FS51.zip.
