The Hercules is designated Tp84 by the Swedish Air Force. The C-130 844 was delivered to SwAF in March 1981, it was camouflage painted and numbered 844 on delivery. It was painted overall white with removable paint for a United Nations relief operation in Namibia in Early ´89, when it was painted white the name White Lady was painted on the right side of the cockpit. After returning back to Sweden in June ´89 the UN markings were removed, the SwAF insignias uncovered and red dayglow panels were applied to the wings and tail to increase visibility, 844 continiued to fly painted white for a few months before it was washed. In September 92 it recieved the new darker camouflage and smaller black numbers and in February ´93 it was ECM equipped. During an operation called Sarajevo Airlift 844 recieved mission markings forward of the crew door withe the symbol of a flourbag applied after every airlift mission. NOTAM: This aircraft has a loading ramp - use the spoiler key to open or close. Now with Tactical Lighting ....All exterior lights can be turned off at night.
