Gonwa February 2001 This scenery package covers the airport area for General Mitchell International Airport (MKE) located in Milwaukee, WI. ================= Features include: ================= * Accurate rendering and placement of terminals, hangars and many of the support buildings located at General Mitchell International * Accurate runways and taxiways with over 200 taxiway signs * Static aircraft representing Midwest Express, Northwest, TWA and other airlines serving the Milwaukee area * Detailed night lighting effects =================== General Information =================== This scenery was designed for use in FS2000 only. It is not compatible with earlier versions of Flight Simulator. Due to the high level of detail included in this scenery, MKE01v1 is processor-intensive ! It was tested on a Pentium II 450 and later on a Pentium III 800 system with 128 mg of RAM. Frame-rates will be poor on slower systems. Although this scenery has not caused any problems on the author’s computer system, problems can occur with any third party scenery. The author bears no responsibility for problems that may develop as a result of using this scenery package. Install and use MKE01v1 at your own risk. ============= Installation: ============= 1. Create a folder named MKE01v1 in the ADDON folder of FS2000. 2. Create two folders in the MKE01v1 folder. Name one folder SCENERY and the other folder TEXTURE. ( It is not necessary to capitalize the names of the folders. ) Your folders should be arranged as follows: C:/Microsoft Games/FS2000/ADDON/ MKE01v1/ SCENERY TEXTURE 3. Unzip the MKE01v1.zip file. The zip file contains BGL, BMP and *AF files. 4. Copy the BGL files to the MKE01v1 SCENERY folder ( not the main FS2000 scenery folder ! ) 5. Copy the remaining BMP and *AF files to the MKE01v1 TEXTURE folder ( not the main FS2000 scenery folder ! ) ==================================== Activating MKE01v1 Scenery in FS2000 ==================================== 1. Start FS2000. Under the menu options, select World > Scenery Library 2. Select Add Area. A Select Scenery Directory box will appear. 3. Locate the MKE01v1 folder in the ADDON folder of FS2000 4. Click once to highlight the MKE01v1 folder 5. Name the scenery area in the Scenery Area Title box, such as "Milwaukee, WI" IMPORTANT ! MKE01v1 must have a priority setting higher than the default Chicago and U.S. Great Lakes Region scenery areas in FS2000, otherwise conflicts will result with the default scenery. 6. Click on the green checkmark to close the scenery library. 7. In FS2000, select World > Go To Airport. 8. Select Search Places and set the menu boxes to North America, United States, Wisconsin and Milwaukee. 9. Select "General Mitchell International". Do not select "Gen Mitchell Intl" ( that is the FS2000 default scenery menu for MKE. ) 10.Select the runway of your choice and click on the green checkmark. You should now be placed at the appropriate runway at MKE ! IMPORTANT ! Make sure that your scenery density in FS2000 is set to Dense or Very Dense. Many of the features of MKE01v1 will not appear in a density setting of normal. ====================== NAVIGATION INFORMATION ====================== The following is a simple list of navigation aids for those of you that may not have access to approach plates for MKE.
